When looking at the credentials of a prospective motivational speaker, it is important that they have something in their resume that stands out to prospective employers. A published work, especially a book, is a great credential booster for a motivational speaker.

Authors make great motivational speakers. They have a deep content knowledge of their respective specialty, allowing them to be very good in a niche motivational speaking market. Their credentials as a published author also give them a good reputation going into the field of motivational speaking because they have already proven that they can reach a large audience.
